PURPOSE: A motion picture storage medium issuing system and a method of controlling the system are provided to digitalize motion picture data received through a network or motion picture data recorded in a video tape, 6mm/8mm tape, and digital camera according to recording operation, and store the digitalized motion picture data to offer the stored data to customers. CONSTITUTION: A motion picture storage medium issuing system includes a motion picture information input part(110), a switch(119), a liquid crystal monitor(152), an MPEG board(120), a controller(130), a CD recorder(160), a monitor(162), a power supply(190), and a data transmission/reception unit(180). The motion picture information input part has a CD player(111), a video tape recorder(112), a 6mm/8mm tape(113), a video camera(114), a digital camera(115), and an input port(116) through which motion picture information is received from the tapes and cameras. The switch for selecting a transmission path of the motion picture information. The MPEG board formats the motion picture information to store the information in a compression file form. The controller controls the entire operation of producing a motion picture CD. The CD recorder records the motion picture information in an empty CD. The monitor used for editing motion pictures. The data transmission/reception unit transmits and receives motion picture information and various information items through a predetermined network.
