Each cylinder is fitted with an exhaust port. The cylinders contain primary (21) and balance (22) pistons, which are connected to primary (28) and balance (29) crankshafts, located at the opposite ends of the cylinders to the combustion chamber. The two crankshafts are connected by a kinematic chain (26) to synchronise the speeds to control the engine's operating cycle.
