PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily predicting the equal color space chromaticity value of a color to be displayed in the half-tone of a special color from the articulate concentration and equal color space chromaticity value of a special color ink. SOLUTION: This special color half-tone predicting method is composed of preparing processing for measuring the characteristics of the gradation scale of the typical special color ink for each category of color and preparing a required conversion function for each category of color and executing processing for successively performing a first step for determining a category, to which the target special color ink belongs, and measuring the special color articulate equal color space chromaticity value and concentration, a second step for predicting the concentration value of half-tone display of a dot area rate including that special color from the provided articulate concentration value, and a third step for finding the equal color space chromaticity value of the special color half-tone while using the conversion function for the relevant color category corresponding to the color category of the target special color. |
