PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochromic device having no problem of generating picture with poor visibility due to diffusion. SOLUTION: In the electrochromic device consisting of a pair of glass plates, plastic plates or plastic films and provided with conductive layers on the one sides of them respectively, having at least one sheet out of conductive coating films being transparent and the other sheet optionally being a mirror and having an electrochromic medium charged in a volume made of the two sheets of the plates or the films and a ring for tight sealing, the electrochromic device is characterized by having the electrochromic medium which contains a pair of electrochromic substances OX2n+ and RED1m-, provided that here n and m are mutually independent integers of 2-4. |
