ANTENNA SYSTEM AND PORTABLE RADIO UNIT MOUNTING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high antenna gain in the state in which a portable radio unit is placed on a metallic table or held by the hand. SOLUTION: A helical part 2 and a mono-pole part 3 are disposed so that an angle formed by the axial directions of these parts is about 90 degrees. The mono-pole part 3 is disposed so that the axial direction is parallel with a surface 10B which has the largest area among the surfaces of a housing 10A of the portable radio unit 10. This structure enables the high antenna gain even when using the unit in the stage that it is placed on a metallic table or held by the hand.
