PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner by which the starting position of the scanning with respect to respective scanning light beams are accurately recognized even when the optoelectronic currents generated in a radiation detection device by irradiation of scanning light beams are weak and the scanning light beams are plural. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner which scans a photosensitive body by using plural scanning beams, a resistor switching circuit, whose resistance value of resistor, which transforms the optoelectronic current of the radiation detection device into a voltage, is variable, is added to the circuit of a light beam detection means which detects plural scanning light beams and decides the starting positions of scanning.
