PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appraisal method capable of grasping the same characteristic as that observed in usual observation of a decorative gemstone, especially of a diamond cut decoratively. SOLUTION: On an ordinary observation face of a gemstone, that is, in the diamond cut decoratively, a table face and crown faces are irradiated respectively with white light, and then, the light reflected in the gemstone is observed or photographed from a usual observation position for appraising the decorative gemstone.
