PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast program recording and reproducing system with a digital interface where time information can be transmitted between devices. SOLUTION: This invention provides the broadcast program recording and reproducing system with a digital interface where devices each having a digital interface in compliance with the IEEE 1394 standards are connected and each device can transmit device information via the digital interface to the other devices by using an AV/C command for data transmission reception. Each of the devices connected with each other can transmit time information to the other devices by using a reference time command and an internal time command, which belongs to the AV/C commands.
