PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily correct sensitivity non-uniformity for each of CCD imaging devices and the luminosity non-uniformity of a light source. SOLUTION: In the device for correcting the non-uniformity of imaging devices 330... and the light source in an image reader 1, with which an optical image provided by irradiating an original image with light from a light source 312 and outputted as image data by an image pickup part 33 composed of plural imaging devices 330..., this device is provided with a frequency decomposing means 704 for decomposing the image data of a reference image having uniform density into a high frequency component and a low frequency component, a first setting means 708 for setting an image pickup element correction coefficient for correcting the sensitivity non-uniformity of the imaging devices 330... from the high frequency component corresponding to the respective imaging devices 330... and a second setting means 706 for setting a light source correction coefficient for correcting the non-uniformity of the light source from the low frequency component corresponding to the respective imaging devices 330..., and while using both the correction coefficients set by the first and second setting means 708 and 706 corresponding to the respective imaging devices 330..., the level of the image data read by the imaging devices 330... is corrected.
