PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability by preventing signal omission caused by an adhesion failure between a master carrier and a slave medium caused by dust sticking in a magnetic transfer method for magnetically transferring an information signal such as a servo signal from the master carrier to the slave medium. SOLUTION: In magnetic transfer carried out by adhering a master carrier 3 carrying information to a slave medium 2 and applying a transfer magnetic field, a metallic thin film layer 32 formed on the substrate 31 of the master carrier 3 is electrically grounded, discharged, and the sticking of dust or the like is reduced.
