PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the modeling of a sequence control system based on rational and practical diagram expression by introducing a new module with a conventional MFG as a basis. SOLUTION: A sequence control system controlled by a sequence program for generating, editing, or verifying a sequence program is modeled and displayed with a diagram. The diagram for modeling the sequence control system is prepared on the basis of a mark flow graph including a box bt expressing situations, transitions ti and to expressing events, a flow arc indicating the flow of control by connecting the box bt to the transition ti and to, control arcs u1 and u2 indicating signals inputted from the outside for controlling the ignition of the transitions, an output arc y indicating a signal outputted from the box to the outside, and a token black circle mark indicating the present situation. In this case, the specific box bt and the transition ti and to before and after the box bt are expressed with blocks as one functional transition. The functional transition includes a code (JK) indicating a function, the input and output terminal of the flow arc, the input terminal of the control arcs u1 and u2, and the output terminal of the output arc y.
