PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavator preventing equipment from being fouled with a burst of discharge soil even if the discharge soil bursts out of a joint part of an air pinch valve disposed in a soil discharge pipeline, and facilitating the repair and replacement of the air pinch valve. SOLUTION: This tunnel excavator is partitioned into a rotary excavating part and the equipment disposition chamber side by a partition wall provided at the front of a skin plate. A sediment chamber at the rear part of the rotary excavating part is allowed to communicate with the air pinch valve disposed at the lower part of the equipment disposition chamber through a soil discharge port provided at the lower part of the partition wall, and the soil is discharged from the air pinch valve through a soil discharge pipe. The air pinch valve is partitioned from the equipment disposition chamber by a waterproof cover to prevent equipment from being fouled even if the discharge soil bursts out, and a valve installation chamber surrounded with the water proof cover is opened to the outside from the skin plate to allow repair and replacement work from the outside.
