PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately compensate distortion in case of a different curvature distortion of images at an upper and a lower sides. SOLUTION: The arrangement of a deflection yoke comprises: a first compensating coil 21A forming a compensating magnetic field for deflecting electron beam vertically at a rear end side of the deflection yoke; a second compensating coil 21B forming a compensating magnetic field for deflecting electron beam vertically at a rear end side of the deflection yoke; and a current supply means for supplying these first and second compensating coils 21A, 21B with compensating currents 11, 12 and also for switching supply destination of the compensating currents 11, 12 from the first half part Vf to second half part Vs of a vertical deflection period 1V. |
