PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a body without being affected by disturbing light. SOLUTION: A body detecting device provided to an automatic faucet has a projector 6 which projects infrared rays and a photodetector 7 which receives reflected light and detects whether or not there is a human hand 10 in a specific space below a faucet 3. A controller controls the projector 6 between a non- projection space where no infrared rays are projected and a projection period wherein the infrared rays are projected. The controller detects the output of the photodetector 7 in 1st photodetection timing in the non-projection period and detects the output of the photodetector 7 in 2nd photodetection timing in the projection period to judge whether or not there is the human hand 10 in the specific space. |
