PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve all cylinders so as to be ignitable at optimal time in a method and a device for controlling a gasoline internal combustion engine having a direct injection system. SOLUTION: In respective fuel injection processes, one value is written in a memory cell of a storage device with respective cylinders, the value fixes the ignition timing of the corresponding cylinders with every fuel quantity injected each time, and is read out again when igniting the respective cylinders.
