PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical inserting plug and socket capable of decoupling with high reliability, even if the constituting elements are miniaturized, and also assembling with ease. SOLUTION: The inserting plug and socket connecting part is made between the socket 1 on a mother plate 2 and the plug 3 on a sister plate 4. This plug unit includes a plug housing 5 mounted on the sister plate 4 in a manner displaceable in the axial direction. The plug housing is equipped with a means 6 for latching at a latching position inside the socket. The plug housing is supported, directly or indirectly in the inserting direction, on a pushing element in the shape of a leaf spring 7 having an angle part 8. The spring force of this leaf spring keeps supporting the plug housing until it reaches the latching position. By keeping pushing, the support of this pushing table 9 is automatically released through the backward bending of the leaf spring. The sister plate is decoupled from the mother plate after reaching the latching position.
