摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toroidal magnetic-field coil in which winding size can be reduced by making the stresses in the toroidal winding uniform. SOLUTION: The toroidal winding is provided with a plurality of winding conductors, that are supported with prescribed mutual spacing by a radial plate, so that the spacing between winding conductors of the toroidal winding is changed, depending on the position in the toroidal winding with the stresses due to electromagnetic force during operation being uniform in the radial plate. The winding conductors are supported by being accommodated in slots of the radial plate. The spacing between the winding conductors is specified by the width of the part of the radial plate existing between winding conductors and the cross-sectional shape of the winding conductors or the distance between the centers of the conductors.
