PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable control of SMS messages in an external and/or internal memory of a radio communication terminal, without having to conduct operations by the user and without automatically erasing messages which are to be read by the user. SOLUTION: Information received by the terminal is stored and associated permanently with an indicator representative of the erasable nature of the information, and erasable information is erased automatically as a function of the consulting of the information by the user.
