PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an excess increase in a catalyst temperature and waste of energy for a catalyst temperature rise by performing an effective catalyst temperature control by clarifying an engine starting timing and to supply combustion gas with a high heat value to an exhaust emission control device by lowering a heat exchange rate between engine cooling water flowing in a combustion type heater and combustion gas when early activation of a catalyst provided on an exhaust system is required. SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle having an engine, an electric motor 101, the combustion type heater 17, a gas purifying catalyst 39 provided on an exhaust pipe 42 and a combustion gas discharge passage 35 for passing combustion gas of the heater 17 toward the catalyst 39, an introduction control of combustion gas is performed for the catalyst 39 before the engine is actually started after confirming the engine starting request. In the combustion type heater 17, a heat exchange part 17d for performing a heat exchange between a heating medium and combustion gas is formed. The combustion type heater 17 is provided with a fan 149 and a passing hole 205 for performing a lowering control of the heat exchange rate in the heat exchange part 17d. |
