PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual inspection device and a visual inspection method for accurately performing detection on a smooth surface with low surface roughness for improving inspection accuracy. SOLUTION: In the visual inspection, a predetermined inspection is carried out by color image processing of color image data obtained by photographing a mounted base board. In photographing an inspection object having a detection objective part with surface roughness different from that around it such as a polarity mark formed on the upper face of an electronic part 3, when a chromatic illuminating light is radiated in the coaxial direction by means of a coaxial light source part 4e while regular reflection light of the chromatic illuminating light from the polarity mark with the low surface roughness is received by means of the camera 5, the detection objective part is discriminated from the periphery. In this way, the smooth surface with low surface roughness can be precisely separated and discriminated by means of color image processing. |
