PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize fit up posture of a disc rotor against a hub wheel, in a bearing unit for wheel axle. SOLUTION: The bearing unit for wheel axle, wherein the disc rotor 5 of disc brake apparatus is mounted in such a way as to be assigned to the outer side of a flange 10 extending radially outward from a hub wheel 2, is so constructed that through-holes 11 for attaching bolts are arranged in several places in circumferential direction of the flange, cutaways 20 penetrating in the depthwise direction are provided in the region between the through-holes for attaching bolts next to each other in circumferential direction, and absorption of a strain due to plastic flow of a wall part by the inner periphery of the cutaway 20 is made possible.
