PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas compressor having the excellent durability. SOLUTION: This gas compressor is provided with a cylinder block 7 provided with a compression chamber for compressing the gas and a discharge hole 7a for discharging the gas compressed in the compression chamber to the outside, a reed 22 arranged so as to cover the outside of the discharge hole 7a of the cylinder block 7 and to be separated from the cylinder block 7 by a pressure difference between the inside of the compression chamber of the cylinder block 7 and the outside of the cylinder block 7, and a valve support 23 fixed to the cylinder block 7 with the reed 22 and for abutting on the reed 11 with the cylinder block 7 from a back side thereof so as to regulate a rise of the reed 22. A surface of the reed 22 is coated with a thin layer 22a of polytetrafluoroetylene.
