PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery enabled to measure the battery temperature with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The lead secondary battery 10 houses a group of electrode plates 5 composed of positive electrodes, negative electrodes, and separators in a battery case 3, and an upper lid 4 is mounted on it. At least one or more of temperature measuring element insertion holes 1 are formed on battery case separation walls 3A and on upper lid separation walls 4A of the upper lid 4, and the proper battery temperature of the lead storage battery 10 is measured.
