Carriage (1) has multi-function chassis (2) resting on two motor driven rear wheels (3) and front guide wheel (4). Carriage is manually controlled by maneuvering arm (5). Chassis houses electrical control system and batteries (9) and flat bed top to support load (7). Height of chassis with respect to rear wheels and ground is such that its center of gravity is in same plane as line through front wheel and center of rear wheel axis. The top plate (6a) of the chassis is removable to give access to the electrical controls and batteries. To improve stability the rear wheel diameter is about 30 cm and ground clearance is about 10 to 15 cm for a overall height of about 50 cm. At the rear of the carriage is a trailer coupling (17) which can be used to pull or push a trailer (8). Inside the chassis are batteries, an hydraulic pump, an electric motor driving the pump, two hydraulic motors driven by the pump which drive the rear wheels, and an oil reservoir together with electrical and hydraulic controls. The carriage has two speeds slow and fast with specific pressure maintained controls (16) actuating the motors and releasing the brakes. The controls being contact key actuated.
