PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding portable telephone which can show the user that the power is on, with a relatively low power consumption, even when the package is folded. SOLUTION: The portable telephone is provided with a folded state detecting section 1 for detecting that the package is folded, a clock mechanism 2 for clocking, a sound source 4 for generating a signal sound such as prescribed melodies, a warning sound and the like, and a sound generator for generating and outputting the signal sound generated by the sound source 4 to the outside. If power is turned on and the folded state detecting section 1 detects that the package is folded, when the clock mechanism 2 reaches the prescribed time, the sound source 4 generates signal sound and the signal generator 7 outputs the signal sound. |
