PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell electrode in which a gas channel, a proton channel and an electron channel are formed in the close vicinity of the inside of the catalyst layer and the reaction area is increased. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is comprised of: a step in which a fluid dispersion, in which the first carbon powder carrying a precious metal catalyst is dispersed in the organic solvent, and an alcohol fluid dispersion of a polymer electrolyte are mixed, and a colloid of a polymer electrolyte is generated, and a mixed liquid, in which the colloid is adsorbed in the above carbon powder, is obtained; a step in which the second carbon powder carrying a precious metal catalyst is dispersed in the alcohol liquid dispersion of the polymer electrolyte; a step in which a catalyst layer paint is formed by mixing the above mixed liquid and the fluid dispersion; and a step in which a catalyst layer is formed using this catalyst layer paint. The catalyst layer is transferred after either directly formed on the gas dispersing layer or the electrolyte membrane, or after formed on the separate film. |
