<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To markedly reduce the number of external terminals, while maintaining functions of inputting and outputting multiple signals. SOLUTION: On a semiconductor chip 6, a plurality of circuits, a wiring circuit, and a server circuit are formed. Signals generated by a plurality of the circuits are supplied to the server circuit through the wiring circuit. The server circuit multiplexes these signals and then supplies them to an electro-optic conversion unit 28, which converts the multiplexed electrical signals from the server circuit into optical signals, and then outputs them outside a package 8 via an optical fiber 32. The optical signals, inputted from outside the package 8 via an optical fiber 34, are converted into electrical signals by means of an photoelectric conversion unit 30. The server circuit then receives the multiplexed electrical signals, separates them into individual electrical signals, and then outputs them to a plurality of the circuits on the semiconductor chip 6 via the wiring circuit.</p> |
