PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating pump capable of surely detecting the malfunction of suction and discharge of the fluid such as a lack of the oil and a clogging of an outlet with the relatively simple structure using an inexpensive detecting means. SOLUTION: This reciprocating pump 1 for sucking and discharging the fluid with a reciprocating member 20 is provided with a malfunction detecting means 50 formed of a piezoelectric element for detecting the pressure fluctuation on the discharge side 40 so as to detect whether the malfunction of suction and discharge of the fluid is caused or not.
