PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can simply and simultaneously set devices interconnected by a network and to provide an on-vehicle communication system, a communication unit, and an on-vehicle unit. SOLUTION: A communication terminal (server) 11 is provided with a storage medium interface 112 to/from which a storage medium 111 is attachable/ detachable, and each of devices 12a-12c is provided with a control means 122 that reads setting information 115 from the storage means 111 inserted to the storage medium interface 112 of the communication terminal (server) 11 via a network 15 or writes the setting information to the storage means 111 as its control and with a setting means 124 that sets its own device on the basis of the setting information 115 read from the storage means 111.
