PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply output the character of low density while suppressing the occurrence of moire caused by enhancement processing. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a first level co part 202 for increasing the value of a low density pixel in respect to input image data, MTF filtering processing part 205 for performing image intensifying to image data after processing in this first level converting part 202, second level converting part 206 for reducing the value of low density pixel in respect to image data after such MTF filtering processing, isolate point detecting part 203 for detecting an isolate pixel in the input image data and edge detecting part 207 for detecting the presence/absence of edge part in the image data after MTF filtering processing and when a pixel is detected as an isolate point, the input image data are selected. Concerning the pixel detected as an edge part, level converting for reducing the value of low density pixel is not performed to the image data after MTF filtering processing. |
