<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and lightweight Fabry-Perot optical resonator. SOLUTION: The distance d between reflectors 3A and 3B is changed with a voltage applied to the reflectors 3A and 3B, while keeping the distance d between reflectors 3A and 3B by using coil springs 8A and 8B. An electric field generated between the reflectors 3A and 3B acts on the liquid crystal 9 to change its refractive index n. That is, the wavelength of an optical signal tuned can be largely changed because both changes of the distance d and the refractive index n are used.</p> |
