PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of recognizing the scale and position of a fire in an underground facility for embedding equipment securely. SOLUTION: As for the monitoring system for the underground facility for embedding the equipment, plural smoke sensors 11 and 12 are installed as fire sensors in a tunnel 100. The smoke sensors are connected with a controller 20 to transmit a fire detection signal together with the address of the fire sensor to the receiver 50 of a center 300 through a portable telephone network 200. The receiver 50 judges a fire level by the number of the addresses of the fire sensors transmitted with the received fire detection signal.
