SOLUTION: Concerning the character picture C0, with a fixed point defined in an area consisting of the picture display area and its neighborhood area as the reference, and among a plurality of magnified pictures C1, C2, C3 enlarged and displayed with a sequentially increasing magnifying power Zi and a desired translucent coefficientηi, a picture of the smallest magnifying power is displayed so as to be superimposed on the character picture C0, and then a picture of a smallest magnifying power among the remaining enlarged pictures C2, C3 is superimposed one by one on the composited picture by superposition, and thus the character picture is fade-out displayed.
