PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus in which a combustible such as waste and coal is gasified, and ash fraction produces product gas involving much meltable combustible with the aid of self heat for melting and combustion. SOLUTION: A gasifying furnace is provided for gasifying waste. The gasifying furnace is a fluidized bed furnace 2 having a circular horizontal cross section, which furnace 2 includes central fluidization gas supply means that forms at the center of the furnace a moving layer where a fluid medium is sedimented, and periphery fluidization gas supply means around the furnace for forming a fluidized bed layer where a fluidized medium rises. the fluidized medium forms circulation flow through a moving layer and the fluidized layer and supplies waste into the fluidized bed furnace 2 and gasifies. The fluidized bed furnace 2 includes a noncombustible exhaust outlet for discharging noncombustible involved in the waste and the fluid medium, and further includes a valve for sealing inner pressure in the fluidized bed furnace 2 when the noncombustible involved in the waste and the fluid medium are discharged, and further separates the discharged noncombustible and the fluid medium, and returns the separated fluid medium to the fluidized bed furnace 2.
