RECORDING MEDIUM AND RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium capable of properly writing an end address later even when any end address is not recorded in a recording part. SOLUTION: A recording device 10 is provided with a memory 40 for recording the address of picture data written in the picture storage area of a recording part 30 at last. Also, the recording device 10 prepares flag data indicating whether or not an end address specifying the storage position of the final picture data of moving images is written in an index area. An index confirming part 38 confirms whether or not the end address is written in the index area based on the flag data. When the index confirming part 38 confirms that any end address is not written in the index area, an address writing control part 34 writes the address stored in the memory 40 as the end address in the index area.
