摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a composite material favorable for a heat radiation member at a low cost. SOLUTION: A square prismatic metal die 4 is formed of a metal of the kind similar to a metal of the matrix phase. The melting point of the metal of the metal die 4 is slightly higher than that of the metal of the matrix phase. The metal die 4 is formed a plurality of times as long as the thickness of the composite material 1 of a product. SiC powder 5 is filled in the metal die 4. Next, a molten aluminum alloy 6 is poured in the metal die 4 in a compressed condition. After the aluminum alloy 6 of a predetermined quantity to substantially fill spaces of SiC powder 5 is poured in the metal die 4, the pressure as high as the die-cast forming pressure (for example, tens to one hundred MPa) is applied to the riser head. After the predetermined time elapses, the metal die 4 is cooled, and the aluminum alloy 6 is solidified and cooled. The composite material 1 as an intermediate product is taken out of a casting machine together with the metal die 4, and the composite material 1 is cut together with the metal die 4 to obtain the composite material 1 as a final product.
