PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for change in the impedance between a drain and a source of an output MOSFET. SOLUTION: This semiconductor relay has a light emitting element 1 which emits optical signals according to input signals, a light receiving element 2 which generates a photovoltaic force based on the optical signals from the light emitting element 1, an output MOSFET 3 in which the impedance between a drain and a source changes by impressing the photovoltaic force and by charging the circuit part between a gate and the source, and a control circuit 50 which controls the charge and discharge of the gate charge of the output MOSFET 3. It also has a discharge resistor 7 in which the gate charge discharged from the output MOSFET 3 flows, and a discharge transistor 6 in which both output terminals are connected in parallel between the gate and the source of the output MOSFET 3 and one output terminal and a control terminal are connected between both terminals of the discharge resistor 7.
