PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the effective utilization of the original image of a summarized copy by deleting an image in the partial area of a summarized copy original, on which plural images are formed while dividing the area, or forming an image relocated after deletion. SOLUTION: A re-summarized image 12 or 13 is prepared based on a summarized original 11 composed of areas (1, 2, 3 and 4). In the case of copying, a number of images to be summarized (a number 4 of images to be summarized in the example of Figure) and an area (the area (2) in the example of Figure) are designated, the image in the designated area is deleted and the re- summarized image 12 is prepared. Further, when relocation is instructed, by making close the arrays of images in the order of location predetermined corresponding to the number of images to be summarized, the re-summarized image 13 is prepared not to generate a blank between images.
