摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal vapor discharge lamp improved in stability to starting even at a low temperature. SOLUTION: For the metal vapor discharge lamp in which a starter comprising a nonlinear ceramic capacitor and a semiconductor switch which are connected to each other in series is connected to a luminous tube in parallel, a value of a current leaked from the semiconductor switch is not higher than a value of a current leaked from the nonlinear ceramic capacitor.
