PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a measuring instrument that a displaying part is unitized and automatic assembly can be done using a jig. SOLUTION: The figure shows the cross section of an indicating mechanism 11 of a measuring instrument like a water meter. A rotation of a measuring impeller (that is not shown in the figure) is transmitted to a central magnetized toothed gear 20 by the action of a magnetic coupling, and the rotation is transmitted to a number wheel 30 for displaying an integrated value through a toothed gear mechanism 40. Further, a plurality of number wheels 30 are geared with the number wheel pinion 31. A number wheel assembly and a number wheel pinion assembly are built into a fixed holding frame 10 and an assembly 25 for the fixed holding frame 10 is built into an outer box 6. Parts 34 and 35 are windows for seeing a number. In the instrument, since a displaying part is unitized, the number wheel assembly and the number wheel pinion can be positioned by the jig. Then automatically assembling can be done by an assembly machine and the positioning is done by the jig, and therefore error of built-in for parts is eliminated.
