PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure an inclination and an angle of a measured face. SOLUTION: This level has a base 3 contacting with the measured face 6, a weight 2 attached rotatably between two fixed blocks 4 fixed on the base 3 by fixing screws 9, an optical displacement sensor 1 for detecting displacement of the weight, and a digital panel controller 5 for displaying an inclined amount based on an output from the sensor 1. A weight 11 is provided in the optical displacement sensor, and a light emitting diode is used as a light source for the displacement sensor.
