PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorption material which has remarkably good shock absorbability so as to absorb impact energy inflicted on head of a vehicle occupant in vehicle collision and is suitable for reducing a head injury value. SOLUTION: In the impact absorbing material 1 comprising rigid polyurethane foam in the form of plate, the impact absorption material 1 has concavities 3 disposed in parallel in one direction on at least one board side. The concavity 3 in a cross-section of a depthwise direction of the impact absorption material 1 has a configuration of a triangle shape or the like in which the shape and dimensions are becoming smaller as the depth goes deeper.
