An elevator device, comprising a main cable (11) having a main cable body (rope main body (21)) and a resin coating material (23) covered on the outer peripheral surface of the main cable body, a drive device (8), and a drive sheave (10), the drive sheave (10) of the drive device (8) further comprising a sheave main body (25) having a groove (25a) formed in the outer peripheral surface thereof so as to allow the main cable to be inserted therein and a rope supporting material (26) provided along the inner surface of the groove and made of a material higher in coefficient of friction than the material of the sheave main body.
