摘要 |
PURPOSE: A low-noise optical fiber amplifier through a polarization adjustment is provided to remove noise whose polarization component is orthogonal of a signal. CONSTITUTION: A polarization beam splitter/recombiner(1) splits and recombines an input light signal into optical signals which is orthogonal of each other. A phase controller(2) integrates optical signals from the polarization beam splitter/recombiner(1). A laser diode(5) generates laser beams for pumping, and a 3dB coupler(4) bisects the laser beam. A wavelength division multiplexing coupler(3) multiplexes the laser beam and an input light. A polarization maintained optical fiber(7) maintains polarization and amplifies the input light coupled with the laser beam. A linear polarizer(6) polarizes the amplified optical signals.
