<p>A method that allows taxing jurisidictions (17b) to collect sales and/or use taxes from sales that are made via the internet and from catalogs. The method also provides sellers (12) and buyers (11) with secure, digitally signed receipts so that they will have evidence of the sales and/or use taxes that they have paid. The foregoing is accomplished by using an agent to perform the sale tax administration functions of a seller and secure coprocessors to generate secure digitally signed receipts.</p> |
