<p>A screening method by using cells capable of expressing Gli1 gene, which is usable in searching for a compound having an activity of controlling the expression of Gli1 gene or its salt. Because of having an activity of inducing bone or cartilage, compounds having an activity of promoting the expression of Gli1 gene are usable as preventives and remedies for orthopedic diseases, dental diseases, osteoporosis, etc. These compounds are also usable as remedies for bone transplantation in the field of cosmetic surgery and differentiation inducers in autotransplantation in regeneration therapy. On the other hand, compounds having an activity of inhibiting the expression of Gli1 gene are usable as preventives and remedies for, e.g., hyperosteogenesis and hyperchondrogenesis.</p> |
