METHOD FOR SECURE DISTRIBUTION OF DIGITAL DATA REPRESENTING A MULTIMEDIA CONTENT

The invention concerns a method whereby the digital data are stored by a content provider in a database (10) in a form scrambled by control words. When a user wishes to receive data through a distribution network (5), he transmits to the content provider an encryption key. The provider encrypts the control words with said key and sends back to the user receiver device (2): the scrambled digital data; and the encrypted control words using said encryption key. The receiver device can then decrypt the control words and descramble the data.
