A method and device for monitoring a sensor, in particular, a sensor for determining a pressure parameter which characterises the pressure of the inlet air in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. An error is recognised when a change in an operating parameter which characterises the injected amount of fuel has no corresponding change in the output parameter from the sensor as a result.
