Feeding of the paper sheets is by transporting rollers (13) which are spaced apart by such a distance that there is a gap (14) between each two adjacent rollers. A slotted nozzle (15) is allocated to each gap to pressurize the gap with blast air. The nozzles are provided in the of the top plate of the sheet feeder table. Discharge channels lie opposite the nozzles to direct the blast air jet under the feeder table. The transporting rollers are mounted with torsional fixing on a hollow shaft with a hollow core.
