A method and device for measuring and graphically displaying the activity of a biologically effective substance, in particular of an enzyme, in a histological preparation is disclosed. The preparation (3) is treated with reagents, which alter at least one optical property of the preparation due to the activity of the substance and the preparation treated as above is arranged in front of an imaging device (1, 5). Sequential images of the preparation are then taken. By means of a computer (11), the variation of the optical property with time, in a least one selected image region (Ba), can thus be determined, by comparison of the sequentially taken images (B) and hence the concentration of the substance in the selected image region (Ba) can be determined from the change in the optical properties within the selected image region (Ba). |
